An exciting double event with topics related to company catering, at which ventopay was a speaker and exhibitor, took place in Munich last week.
May 3, 2023 was all about the intensive seminar “Digitalization in gastronomy and kitchen”. In this seminar, the participants learned everything about the current digital trends and optimization options with regard to staff shortages in communal catering.
The renowned annual conference “Construction and operation of commercial kitchens and company catering” then took place from May 4th to 5th, 2023.
The intensive seminar
The intensive seminar “Digitization in gastronomy and kitchen” showed the optimization possibilities of digitization projects in gastronomy in one day.
Various lectures gave new impetus for the operation of the branch. These topics included
- wwimlanes for the canteen of the future
- digital merchandise management
- kitchen robot
- smart connected kitchen appliances
- not just empty words – real added value of digitization
- AI-based production planning
Among the speakers was ventopay CEO Ing. Johannes Reichenberger, who put the application of new technologies and artificial intelligence in community catering to the test.
The participants were able to listen to success stories about digital pre-orders, interactive communication and employer branding via app and digital signage as well as innovative self-service and payment concepts. The lecture also focused on sales forecasts and the reduction of food waste by using artificial intelligence.
The annual conference
The annual conference “Construction and operation of canteen kitchens and company catering” on trends and efficiency in communal catering took place for the 9th time.
This year’s main topic was “Changing Community Gastronomy”. The participants expected many specialist lectures with best practice examples and solution approaches for current trends and challenges such as the digitization of company catering.
One of the lectures in the program was given by Bernadette Lanz and Peter Salbreiter from the Lufthansa Group Taste & More GmbH. They talked about digitized processes, fast payment, simple billing and enthusiastic guests in company catering. In short: About the many advantages that LGTM benefits from through the digitization project implemented last year together with ventopay.
After a project lead time of only 8 months, more than 100,000 employees in ten LGTM companies nationwide are now benefiting from the holistic and innovative digitization concept, which, in addition to checkout and payment systems, primarily promotes customer enthusiasm via app, web shop and digital interaction.
LGTM employees can use the app and web shop to pre-order food at any time anywhere in Germany, to consume AI-generated company news and to give LGTM targeted feedback so that the operator can constantly develop in line with customer requirements.
The trade exhibition
Aside from the lectures, the participants also received valuable impulses for the future of company catering: ventopay presented mocca® at the “Commercial Kitchen World” trade exhibition, the leading platform for digitization and innovation in communal catering and system catering.
