Digital transformation and the future with AI in commercial kitchens
Around 80 professionals and managers from the catering and commercial kitchen sectors attended an event that focused on digital transformation, artificial intelligence (AI), and automated processes, as well as the symbiosis of humans and machines.
Johannes Reichenberger, founder and managing partner of ventopay, opened the all-day event with an introduction to the strategic merger of ventopay gmbh and Delegate Technology GmbH under the newly established umbrella of mocca-group.ai. This provides a forward-looking framework for digital transformation and innovation in commercial kitchens.
Fabian Sauer, CTO and Deputy CIO of Compass Group Germany, captivated the audience with his subsequent keynote speech on digital transformation in corporate catering. His message: Digital tools are not gimmicks, but the foundation for sustainable success, the establishment of new business models and modern ways of working.
Johannes Reichenberger then impressed with his presentation, explaining why AI and technology are necessary to support the remaining skilled workers in their creativity and work with guests. Using the shift from the traditional POS to a holistic EoS (Environment of Service) as an example, he explained how the industry can overcome existing challenges and achieve digital transformation.
Andreas Oyrer, Delegate’s new CEO, highlighted the importance of technological developments in the industry and the significance of networked systems for success in the catering industry. With offices in the USA and Australia, Delegate is already successfully established in the market beyond Europe.
Another highlight was the keynote speech by Markus Manz, Managing Director of the Software Competence Center Hagenberg (SCCH). He provided fascinating insights into how collective intelligence is already a reality today through the collaboration of humans and AI – and demonstrated its potential using concrete use cases.
After a content-intensive morning session, the event continued with a more practical approach following an extended lunch break: Christopher Baumgartner, authorized signatory and Head of Sales at ventopay, and Christian Schmidt, Director of Solutions & Consulting Delegate, presented the latest innovations and features and demonstrated the concrete added value of the unique digital platform for the industry.
In the final three deep-dive sessions, experts Fabian Cheng (Klimato), David Trümner (New Food Company), and Roland Ambrosch (REET) shared their knowledge and experiences.
How to reduce emissions and obtain data and facts for ESG reports, the path to the vegan revolution in food service and automation in burger production with the help of robots. Participants took advantage of the exciting short presentations in small groups for a lively exchange.
Live demos, intensive networking, and personal discussions rounded out the day. The guests agreed: This event was inspiring – with valuable insights, practical ideas, and a clear vision of the mocca group’s future for commercial kitchens and communal catering.
Johannes Reichenberger (Founder and Managing Partner of ventopay and mocca-group), Andreas Oyrer (CEO Delegate), and Markus Gruber (COO Delegate) are satisfied:
“The customer event was a complete success and we would like to thank everyone for participating.
