ventopay provides a simple and efficient solution for deposit payout
From January 1, 2025, the return of disposable beverage packaging will be required by law in Austria.
ventopay already enables a convenient deposit sales and return logic in your system. This allows you to automatically book the deposit at cash registers and conveniently pay it out again; you can find the details in our article.

These machines scan the QR code and report it online to the central reporting system. The machines certified so far are often very large in terms of construction – comparable to the return systems that you know from supermarkets.
ventopay is in constant contact with the manufacturers and is looking for the best systems for large kitchens and communal catering for you.
Although there is currently no compact, certified machine with an MDB interface, ventopay offers a simple and efficient solution for deposit payout:
There are manufacturers who offer collection machines. Although these are not connected to the central registration office, they enable the collection of disposable packaging without personnel.
This gives you a completely autonomous deposit refund at the machine for a 24/7 self-service solution at moderate prices. Without any manual effort, the deposit value can be credited directly to your employees’ digital wallet or printed out as a receipt.
How it works
Automatic crediting of the deposit amount:
Your customers identify themselves with their employee ID card or via the mocca.loyalty app on the mocca.vend vending machine modules. The current balance is displayed and the return of the deposit bottles and cans can be started. After the return has been completed, the deposit amount is automatically credited to the employee’s digital wallet.
Emptying the collection machine:
The collected bottles can be periodically removed by your staff on site and sealed in a Recycling Pfand Österreich bag. The bags can then be returned to Recycling Pfand Österreich.
Alternatively – issuing the deposit amount via receipt:
Alternatively, the machine (bottle collector) can be equipped with a receipt printer. After the return has been completed, the deposit credit is printed out as a receipt on the return machine and can be scanned and validated at any time at the checkout or with the ventopay app.
