In Austria, a number of laws and regulations concerning cash registers were gradually passed. The cash registers duty and the obligation to provide receipts have been in force since 01.01.2016. On April 1, 2017, the Cash Register Safety Regulation (RKS-V) will enter into force.
The RKS-V is the last and largest extension of the law. In order to comply with the law it is necessary that each cash register has a technical safety device which prevents manipulation of the sales data. For this purpose, a comprehensive software expansion, as well as the addition of a seal creation unit is needed.
